Cleo Weekly Update 8

This week, the Cleo update episode is a deep-dive into Cleo: Sports for Good. Cleo aims to provide a compelling and sustainable offering for sports clubs without requiring significant capital investment. So, Jason dips into how the Cleo platform can help sports organisations to reduce their carbon footprint and achieve their ESG goals. We highlight the environmental impact of professional football (soccer to our US friends!) matches and the efforts of football clubs to adopt sustainability measures. You can check it our here.

Cleo creates the opportunity for clubs to release digital collectibles that unlock their intellectual property, with the proceeds going towards carbon offsetting and sustainability initiatives. The Cleo platform allows for various types of collectibles, such as digital programs, iconic moments in a club's history, or player cards, which can be purchased using local currency and stored in a digital wallet. The revenue generated from these digital collectibles contributes to clubs' ESG goals.

Jason also delves into other ways Cleo could be used for innovative projects, like owning a piece of a stadium or creating 3D collectibles from physical items. As always, the selection of projects Cleo offers to sporting clubs aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and involves partnerships with organizations focused on biodiversity conservation for carbon offset, tree planting, and plastic recovery and recycling from the oceans.
